Weekly Update

Closing out another busy week in Room 25.

Language Arts 8 students completed debates in teams of two.  Content management and speaking/listening were assessed.  We also visited Mrs. Reckord in the learning commons to explore free-reading fiction and non-fiction.  Students should be bringing their library book to class each day; we will return in two weeks for a book exchange.

Language Arts 9 students completed their third fishbowl discussion for Touching Spirit Bear.  We wrap up our novel study next Thursday with a final seminar on the remaining chapters.

Social Studies 9 students have completed mock trials and the final pieces of YCJA (Chapter 2 - Social Studies 9 textbook).   A test date has been set for next Thursday.

Yearbook students have organized a cover art contest for this year's yearbook and are incorporating Riverwatch and Athletics photos into activity pages.

Leadership students are hosting a Halloween dance and carnival next week.  We also sold Candygrams!

Next week is also busy with band camp, Take Your Kid to Work Day, WE Day and Halloween.  Looking forward to it :)
